The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend: "a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."
He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior."
(CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)
Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).
"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008
Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:
A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist." (Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)
"A nutty lesbian blogger." (MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)
Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

The fallen Miss California Carrie Prejean has signed up with right-wing publisher Regnery to write, um, speak into a recorder for a ghost writer. Media Matters:
Disgraced Miss California USA Carrie Prejean has landed herself a book deal with Regnery Publishing, the notorious right-wing publishing house.
I’m sure Prejean, the darling de jour among Christian conservatives and the right-wing press, will feel right at home with Regnery. After all, Regnery is a major hub in the right-wing noise machine that's been whitewashing her stance on "opposite marriage" for months.
Prejean's sure-to-be lightweight tome, a memoir(!!) called "Still Standing," will fit right in with the conspiracy-laden publishing house. Regnery has produced some stunning works of fantasy marketed as "investigative journalism" --
The most infamous of the Regnery titles is undoubtedly Gary Aldrich's Unlimited Access, which included such "revelations" as lesbian encounters in the White House's basement showers, Hillary Clinton ordering miniature crack pipes to hang on the White House Christmas tree, and the claim--backed by anonymous sources--that Clinton made frequent trips to the nearby Marriott to shack up with a mistress "who may be a celebrity."
That last bit helped catapult Unlimited Access to the top of The New York Times's best-seller list, though Aldrich soon revealed to The New Yorker's Jane Mayer that the Marriott story was "not quite solid" and, indeed, was "hypothetical." But according to Aldrich, it was Regnery editor Richard Vigilante who had moved the Marriott bit out of the epilogue (where it had been presented as a "mock investigation") and into the middle of the book (where it was presented as an actual occurrence). Vigilante, Aldrich told Mayer, threatened not to publish the book if Aldrich didn't agree to the changes.
Breaking news of non-earth-shaking proportions. Praise Jeebus, or some such nonsense. Village Voice:
Trump has cleared Prejean's firing by K2 Productions, which handles the Miss California USA franchise. "I told Carrie she needed to get back to work and honor her contract with the Miss California Organization and I gave her the opportunity to do so," Fox News quotes Trump. "Unfortunately it just doesn't look like it is going to happen and I offered Keith [Lewis, K2 executive producer] my full support in making this decision."
"It has become abundantly clear that Carrie has no desire to fulfill her obligations under our contract and work together," says Lewis.
Insert your joke in the comments. I guess she can go out and help Maggie raise Buxx for NOM.
After The Donald's presser, David Schuster had a few things to say about the entire Carrie Prejean debacle, ripping into her, The Donald, and Miss Malibu. A thing of beauty contains no silicone, but rather a smackdown like this imo...
Oh yeah- Contessa Brewer and Tamron Hall were there, too.
DAVID SHUSTER: Can I vomit right now? I mean, literally, can I vomit?
...Doesn't this represent everything that is wrong with the superficial nature of these pageants?
And so much more. Please, MSNBC- give me an hour of David at night and not just a repeat of Chris Matthews!
Donald Trump didn't dump Carrie Prejean for violating pageant rules by posing topless in pink lace panties. The Donald announced Carrie P will stay Miss California, that she and pageant officials have resolved their differences over lack of communication and Prejean's avoidence of pageant appearances while pimping for opposite marriage. The Donald also said that he'd glady have Perez back as a judge--despite Perez's "agenda" and that Carrie's viewpoint on same sex marriage is shared by the President and the Secretary of State.
Carrie blathered on about cultural firestorms and holding true to her values. And her nipple revealing shot in Bliss was taken two years ago--it was windy that's why the forbidden zone showed up on film and she didn't realize the camera was like, going off. And OMG she forgot about those topless shots taken when she was 17. What an airhead! She remembered it soon enough when she penned a note to TMZ, and they were taken by a friend and sent to agents--they were for an application not for publication...whatever story works.
Have at it, folks. I guess short of a XXX porno (and maybe not even then), you get to keep your tiara.
Boy, they are NOT happy with her one damned bit! NOM took a solid scolding as well, especially Maggie Gallagher directly- Kevin Lewis held NOTHING back.
So it has come down to this: The Donald is the one to decide, "hired or fired".
Poll below the fold.
The Donald's gonna hold his own press conference this morning and at that point we will find out if "Miss Malibu" (I kid you NOT!) takes over as Miss California.
You knew it was only a matter of time before another thing that Maggie's pious National Organization for Marriage touches blows up in its face. Nude photos of Miss Pageant-Paid-for-Jugs-for-Jesus have surfaced and the devoted "Christian" is forced to explain herself. Of course she's just a victim, right? Even a bible-beating homophobic gal's got to make a living. (PopCrunch):
Alicia Jacobs, Entertainment Reporter at KVBC in Las Vegas, has seen all six of the photos and says some are much more revealing. Alicia believes the flicks may have been taken after Carrie's pageant-financed breast augmentation about six weeks ago.
Hmmm...These explosive pictures could be devastating for Miss California, whose anti-gay marriage campaign recently resulted in a partnership with the National Organization for Marriage and helped to make her increasingly popular with right-wing conservatives.
"I am a Christian, and I am a model. Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be. But these attacks on me and others who speak in defense of traditional marriage are intolerant and offensive. While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks."
Miss California will continue to be the gift that keeps on giving; a regular pageant-paid-for-silicone-enhanced version of Joe the Plumber. The scuttlebutt is that she is being courted to substitute for Elisabeth Hasselbeck on The View. (PopCrunch):
Flies on the wall at ABC claim View producers are eagerly pursuing Miss California Carrie Prejean - who made international headlines with her anti-gay marriage statement during the 2009 Miss USA pageant earlier this month - to fill-in for the equally conservative Hasselbeck when she goes on maternity leave later this year.
...The National Enquirer's Mike Walker writes: "It could turn into a permanent gig for the controversial beauty queen....Barbara's seriously fed up with Elisabeth's coo-coo-conserva-babble - and her looney-toon responses..."
Huh? Barbara Walters must have missed that press conference last week where Miss California only confirmed that putting together two sentences is challenging.
Oh by the way, did you see that NOM is backing away from her already after that bomb of an appearance at the National Press Club? (Christian Newswire):
Maggie Gallagher, president of the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) released this statement today clarifying the role of Carrie Prejean at a press conference held Thursday in Washington, DC:
"A number of media sources have described Carrie Prejean as a spokesperson for the National Organization for Marriage.
"As we made clear at our press conference yesterday: Carrie appeared with NOM as a private citizen; she does not work for the National Organization for Marriage. She is a spokesperson for her own views, as anyone watching her can tell.
Apparently she's just a hired gun now, rather than their golden girl -- and NOM doesn't want to have to comment on what even they know will be more gaffe-laden remarks like: "Unless we bring men and women together, children will not have mothers and fathers."
Rebecca Armendariz of the Washington Blade returned from today's presser with NOM's Maggie Gallagher and Miss Jugs for Jesus at the National Press Club in DC. Here's the video.
Just got back from the NOM press conference. Maggie Gallagher and Miss California Carrie Prejean were there, and there was even a reporter from "Inside Edition" to ask Prejean about her breast implants!
Gallagher introduced Carrie and was very careful in choosing her words. She said that she understands that the "attacks" on Miss Cali don't reflect the views of most gay people, and remained civil, and a little emotional, about the need to preserve traditional marriage. I'm sure she's also really proud of the soundbite she brought out for the occasion - that Carrie "chose the truth over the tiara."
...If we don't preserve "traditional" marriage, Carrie says, children will not have mothers and fathers. Because, you know, that's the norm.
UPDATE from Daimeon:Mario Lavendeira (aka Perez Hilton) has had the video pulled from YT because it features his mug. Seems awfully petty to me.
UPDATE: Jeremy's response video is already up over at Good As You. It's also below the fold. Miss Pageant-Paid-for Fake Jugs for Jesus The new Anita Bryant debuts... And for comic relief, here's NOM's Brian Brown's e-blast:
Already, the ad is drawing national attention. On the Today Show this morning, Carrie Prejean appeared to help the National Organization for Marriage get the ad's message out: Respect marriage and respect the people like Carrie who stand up for marriage! [Click here to watch Carrie's entire Today Show appearance.]
What happened? Carrie was viciously attacked again by pageant officials who said:
"In the entire history of Miss USA, no reigning title holder has so readily committed her face and voice to a more divisive or polarizing issue. We are deeply saddened Carrie Prejean has . . . solidified her legacy as one that goes beyond the right to voice her beliefs and instead reveals her opportunistic agenda."
Wow. A judge chosen by pageant officials asks Carrie a hot button question, which she answers honestly; this judge then proudly videotapes himself cursing her out and saying he wants to "rip the tiara off her head." And it's Carrie's behavior that is unprecedented?
Carrie Prejean is not an opportunistic agenda. She's a young woman of courage who chose truth over the Miss USA tiara.
Will you help us stand with Carrie and get her message out to more people?

* Miss California emerges as 'opposite marriage' spokeswoman. She's going to make an appearance at the National Press Club tomorrow, a presser hosted by the National Organization for Marriage. No lie. She's been recruited to save the reputation of this tattered flop of an organization by appearing in its next ad:
What happens when a young California beauty pageant contestant is asked, "Do you support same-sex marriage?" She is attacked viciously for having the courage to speak up for her truth and her values. But Carrie's courage inspired a whole nation and a whole generation of young people because she chose to risk the Miss USA crown rather than be silent about her deepest moral values. "No Offense" calls gay marriage advocates to account for their unwillingness to debate the real issue: Gay marriage has consequences.
I thought it was my last post on the topic -- alas, no.
In my opinion it's important to reach out to clearly uninformed people like Carrie Prejean, the young woman who represented Miss California and gave a mind-blowing, missed-the-current-events-boat answer about marriage equality on stage at the 2009 Miss USA Pageant.
"Well, I think it's great that Americans are able to choose one or another. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage. And, you know what? In my country and in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised and that's how I think that it should be - between a man and a woman. Thank you!"
Prejean's nonsensical answer earned her a misguided free speech martyr badge by anti-gay forces of the religious right (along with CNN's Roland Martin, a big mistake that blew up in his face). Exercising one's free speech rights doesn't mean you are free from criticism; Miss California's answer was a big FAIL because it reflected ignorance of: 1) the status of marriage equality in the country, 2) the state she represents, since California actually removed the "choice" of gay couples to marry with Prop 8, and 3) the fact that how one was raised is not the arbiter of what is right and wrong.
Rex Wockner sat down with Prejean and asked her some pointed, but respectful questions in this interview to elicit more information about her point of view outside of a pop question at a pageant. He asked her whether she thinks people are born gay, and her answer does say a lot about her lack of exposure to actual gay people. My emphasis below:
Carrie: I think it's a behavior that develops over time.
Rex: Why would someone choose it, given that if you choose that, you get discriminated against?
Carrie: Um, because obviously Perez Hilton doesn't think that there's anything wrong with it.
Rex: No, but if being gay is a choice, rather than something you're born with, why would you choose something that's going to lead to your being discriminated against? What would be the motivation?
Carrie: I'm not sure what the motivation would be.
Rex: OK. Me either.
To me this is an opportunity for movement with her (and many like her) on this issue. If she's not sure why someone would willingly put themselves in a position to be vilified and discriminated against, she hasn't thought much about it. Even Prejean finds the concept irreconcilable with the view that being gay is a choice.
This makes it obvious that she doesn't have close friends who are gay or lesbian and in committed relationships back home. Same-sex couples simply want all the legal rights that Prejean would have if and when she chooses to marry sometime down the road. That they could decide to marry someone of the opposite sex (something always tossed out by the right), would not change the fact that who we partner with is about who we love -- and the desire to nurture and legally protect that relationship -- not about coddling the anti-gays by closeting one's self in a heterosexual fraud marriage, or submitting to "reparative therapy." That involves more heartache, psychological damage and pain to the future straight spouse. That's been shown over and over. I find it hard to believe that with ongoing conversation, Prejean not begin to see things differently. That's something we also have seen over and over.
I don't think Carrie Prejean is a spiteful and hateful person -- clearly she hasn't given this issue much thought outside her social circle, and quite frankly, doesn't have to. She could have remained in her bubble of ill-informed views, but now, due to her high-profile, she is no doubt going to engage with many who have a different worldview, and hopefully people who can explore this in civil conversation. Perez Hilton's hostility after the interview has given license to the Right to hide behind the rancor as a defense. More encounters like the one with Rex Wockner will challenge Miss California in a positive manner to think more deeply about what discrimination really means.
I didn't want to waste any more precious energy on this dustup, but I was curious about what Miss North Carolina's view on marriage equality was.
Miss North Carolina, Kristen Dalton, who from the POV of Miss California, Carrie Prejean, won her crown only because Prejean drew Perez Hilton's name out of the fishbowl, weighed in on the marriage equality issue. Fortunately, she didn't embarrass herself with a boneheaded answer - she actually walked the line quite artfully.
"The beautiful thing about America is that we have the right to choose, we have the right to choose what partner we want to love, commit and spend the rest of our lives with. I think that all couples should be able to be recognized legally, and they should be able to enter into a union. Whether or not it should be defined as marriage, I don't know, I'll leave that up to the politicians."
That was a decent punt, actually and was diplomatic in discussing Miss California's clumsy, ignorant answer.
Dalton told Al Rocker, "Although I respect her opinion, you know, as Americans, the beauty of America is that we all have a right to our own opinion. I'm proud of [Miss California] for speaking from her heart, and she's passionate and what she believes in, and she's proud of herself."
In related news, on AC360, Mike Signorile was on last night, paired up with CNN's Roland Martin, , whose column "Commentary: Miss California, thanks for being honest" has to be read to be believed. He defended Prejean's "answer" as a matter of free speech -- and clearly "truth." That makes no sense; no one prevented Miss California from exercising her First Amendment rights, and it doesn't protect her statement from ridicule or guarantee her a shiny tiara.
