Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Rick Warren: I have reservations about voting for an adulterer

by: Pam Spaulding

Fri Aug 15, 2008 at 15:00:00 PM EDT

Oh, my, Senator McCain. What on earth will you do?

Pastor Rick Warren, who will moderate the first forum between John McCain and Barack Obama on Saturday at his mega-ministry's Saddleback Church, in Lake Forrest, California, was asked on Good Morning America today whether he'd have a problem trusting or voting for someone who committed adultery.

WARREN: You have to earn that trust. All leadership is built on trust. It's built on credibility. If you don't have credibility, if you don't have authenticity, if you don't have trust, you're not a leader even if you have the title. And the moment you lose the trust of the American public you're no longer the leader. You may still have the title but you're not it. It takes years to build trust and you can lose it instantly -- and it takes even longer to rebuild.

...TAPPER: Would you have compunctions about voting for someone who had cheated on his wife?

WARREN: Absolutely I would. Absolutely I would. Because if you can't keep your faith to your most sacred vow - "'til death do us part" -- how in the world can I trust you to lead my family? My government? My nation?...Absolutely I would. I think people first need to ask forgiveness and then earn trust back over time Can trust be re-earned? Absolutely but it takes time.

You see, when the party of "family values" viewed protecting marriage as an anchor or wedge position, they smiled when it brought votes home. Now the loose-zipper pols have to deal with the blowback -- it's time to play the hypocrisy card since John McCain has embraced the American Taliban.

A liberal Christian group supporting Obama, The Matthew 25 Network has an ad that puts the Arizona senator right in the family values light he deserves. Pastors Kirbyjon and Suzette Caldwell and Catholic theologian Lisa Cahill discuss Senator's Obama's faith and commitment to families.

Brian McLaren: "As a pastor, I know you can learn a lot about a man's character by how he treats his family."

KirbyJon Caldwell (spiritual adviser to Dear Leader, no less): "Barack is a strong man of Christian faith who has been married to his wife Michelle for 16 years...Throughout his entire career he's stood by families."

Perhaps the presumptive GOP nominee would like to discuss the state of his marriage, in light of the fact the John Edwards' problems have been media fodder for the last several days, and that McCain believes in preserving the sanctity of marriage for heterosexuals only.

Caldwell, who was the pastor at Jenna Bush's wedding, also said this:

"Well, I don't know a lot about John McCain's family history, I do know, however, that as recently as last week I think it was, the Senator made a comment in South Dakota regarding his wife entering some Buffalo Chips contest which is this topless deal and if she were to enter she would probably win it and my personal opinion and based on my understanding of the Christian faith, that's not not, N-O-T, not the type of expression that a presidential candidate, or anyone for that matter who is a follower of the Christian faith, ought to make," said the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell.

Leaviung a wife who worked 5 years for your release from Hanoi Hilton, because she was disabled in a near fatal car crash...and so disrespecting her and two adopted sons and a daughter, that you got your marriage license to your younger blonde pillionaire a MONTH befor your divorce was finalised.
Nancy Reagan never forgot that grievance.

the problem with this is that
if warren actually backs mccain, he can just go on to say "god exhorts us to forgive and move on".  in fact, i wonder if he isn't setting up a sort of public forgiveness for mccain in the minds of conservative evangelicals.  i wonder if he'll ask obama about forgiving others their past trespasses.  i don;t know much about warren, but the cynic in me smells a set-up.

Adultery is common
and I wouldn't get all righteous if a married person had sex with non-spouse for a one night stand once in a blue moon - AND used good protection properly - AND had the sense to check for STDs and HIV afterwards. People are not perfect, and I think that the rare offense should be forgiven by the other spouse (and forgiveness goes both ways if other spouse slips).

I do consider how one conducts adultery to be revealing of character. Frequent one-night stands,long-term relationship not cleared with partner beforehand (ie, not polyamory, just sneaking around), not being consistently safe and also checking HIV and STD status - just plain low! Leaving wife #1 to get a rich trophy wife #2 - even lower! Marrying wife #2 a month after getting divorced from wife #1 - despicable! Leaving wife #1 after a serious accident with permanent disability, and failing to support her decently - ninth circle of hell!

and it wouldn't surprise me if the Obama couple hasn't had
a hard time at some point. They do treat each other well in public, and seem quite sincere, so if one or both have had a business trip one-night stand, it wouldn't much bother me.

McCain doesn't treat Cindy M. very well in public.
