The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

McCain: I'm running for president of Heterosexual America

by: Pam Spaulding

Mon Jul 28, 2008 at 11:00:00 AM EDT

The presumptive GOP nominee appeared on This Week with George Stephanopoulus and gave a stellar answer to clarify his position on whether gays and lesbians can adopt -- he's not running to represent the civil rights of those homos, and therefore the entire line of questioning is insignificant, because gay families don't count, they are a political distraction.
STEPHANOPOULOS: What is your position on gay adoption? You told the "New York Times" you were against it, even in cases where the children couldn't find another home. But then your staff backtracked a bit. What is your position?

MCCAIN: My position is, it's not the reason why I'm running for president of the United States. And I think that two parent families are best for America.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Well, what do you mean by that, it's not the reason you're running for president of the United States?

MCCAIN: Because I think -- well, I think that it's -- it is important for us to emphasize family values. But I think it's very important that we understand that we have other challenges, too. I'm running for president of the United States, because I want to help with family values. And I think that family values are important, when we have two parent -- families that are of parents that are the traditional family.

STEPHANOPOULOS: But there are several hundred thousand children in the country who don't have a home. And if a gay couple wants to adopt them, what's wrong with that?

MCCAIN: I am for the values that two parent families, the traditional family represents.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So, you're against gay adoption.

MCCAIN: I am for the values and principles that two parent families represent. And I also do point out that many of these decisions are made by the states, as we all know. And I will do everything I can to encourage adoption, to encourage all of the things that keeps families together, including educational opportunities, including a better economy, job creation.

And I'm running for president, because I want to help families in America. And one of my positions is that I believe that family values and family traditions are preserved.

No one is against family values, or even thinks gay adoption is even at the top of the list of priorities for the next president, that wasn't the question. However, McCain's answer is incredibly direct in one way -- he could not give a whit about what happens to children awaiting a permanent loving home if it means staking an on-the-record position that is remotely pro-gay. That's shameful, and only adds to the notion that domestic policy and expanding civil rights (he now also backs an AZ ballot initiative to end affirmative action there based on race and gender, representing a flip flop), would be at the bottom of his list of interests and priorities.

Help me out here -- where are my Log Cabin Republican educational materials to show me why this man deserves even one LGBT vote?

I never understand the "family values" stuff
Do they think gays grow out of carrot patches?  Even if we don't have or adopt kids, we are still part of a family.  It's like they want to go through my families vacation album from 1985 and crop me out of all the photos.
It's almost as if they assume all families reject their gay kids, uncles, cousins, aunts, nieces, and nephews.  So my family isn't a real family anymore because I'm gay?  I guess there's no point in having the family reunion next weekend.

They are ideologues.
To them, "family values" almost means "Leave it to Beaver", only with an even rosier feel.  They think that they are fighting for a utopia but they are actually in kind of a frenzy over just how ideal of a place they can make believe the US used to be.  Remember the "America, love it or leave it" crowd who used to get angry (I know, you never see right wing anger any more) when anyone even suggested that we didn't have the best government and society that ever manifested on the face of the earth and that anyone who thought differently should move to the USSR?  Reality is an alien concept for these people.

My America includes LGBT families.

no, not "leave it to beaver".
rather, "leave us peek in your beaver" is what the g.o.p. (groping old perverts) is all about.  if they could just get their heads out of our asses long enough to put them up their own, we'd all be better off and they'd finally get a little bit of much-needed satisfaction.

True but
they will never admit to having any sexual urges.  Their children were the only exception, and that was out of necessity.  They then have to sneak around and are caught doing some of the more perverted things out there.  That late wetsuit pastor comes to mind, even though he wasn't a politician officially.  There seems to be a bit of confusion about whether the Victorian Era ever came to an end, at least in this country, doesn't there?  I doubt very many other countries would have politicians suspend any sort of governing for a very long time to be able to focus on the pressing issue of a presidential blow job.  They would have been laughed at.

My America includes LGBT families.

[ Parent ]
So my family isn't a real family anymore because I'm gay?
That's exactly what McCain meant by his answer.
Plus that George Stephenopolos totally let him get away with this notion...that gay families do not even exist or that gay families do in fact have TWO parents...

[ Parent ]
Most MSM lets them get away with it
I don't think I've ever heard anyone question in poltician in the media about the fact that lgbt families are families too. I'd love to see one of these fools questioned on that just once.

McCain is as good as Obama on the double speak
For example,
I think that two parent families are best for America.
can easily be interpreted as meaning he's all for gay couples adopting, just not individuals because the important factor for him is the parent:child ratio.  Too bad Stephanopoulos didn't point this out.

and he is not grilled
Good point, Lurleen.

Stephanopolous could have asked McCain why he didn't uphold traditional family structure - or asked McCain why he feels he is exempt from having to sustain a traditional family that he feels everyone else has to uphold?

McCain must also believe in three or more parent families since he is the head of one.

Oh, George...why are you so weak?

[ Parent ]
You beat me to my comment
Exactly, he said, "And I think that two parent families are best for America. "

Two Parents.  A Lesbian couple that wishes to adopt a child is Two Parents.

Perhaps he doesn't understand that Couple & Two are synonyms

Besser ein ende mit Schrecken als ein Schrecken ohne ende

[ Parent ]
how many does it take?
 Well, okay Sen. McCain...
How many wives does it take to make a traditional marriage and family? Is abandoning a sick wife for a wealthier, younger one part of the tradition?
How did YOUR kids do with that arrangement?

What a pig...George needed a shovel to get through that interview with McCain...and why are there LC Republicans at ALL?!
There hasn't been a viable candidate or conservative consistent enough to even justify their existence.

Log Cabin gadflies to check each and every candidate on their hypocrisy, inconsistency and amorality would be the most productive and refreshing thing the LCR could do.

my two cents
Honestly McCain is a hypocrite, but McCain was the best entrant in the Republican clown car express.

I don't think there is much enthusiasm for McCain anyways.
There has been statewide candidates acceptable for Log Cabin people such as Governor Weld in MA and Arnold in CA. But nationally the fundamentalists have a stranglehold in the national party.

Maybe we need to hope for a McCain loss. I want to see the supreme court turn 5-4 for the left, but still have a toss-up for some issues.

[ Parent ]
It would take at least 5 new justices...
...for the court to turn 5-4 to the Left.  The most we can hope for under the next few presidents is a 5-4 turn to the center.

[ Parent ]
When McCain loses
he will be the last Republican candidate for a decade or two who does not have to pass with a 100% (or a first for the Euros here) a litmus test on Christain Right wing Evangelical positions.....

And we are watching the fallout of what happens when an Attorney General and his Pat Robertson educated staff who pass that test  have power in a government...

I saw the sign(s)...

Help me out here -- where are my Log Cabin Republican educational materials to show me why this man deserves even one LGBT vote?

I don't know where the materials are, but I do know the LCR had a booth at San Diego Pride where they displayed campaign signs for Sen. McCain.

were they serving
Extra strong Kool-Aid to folks to help boost the effect of any "education" they provided about McCain?

[ Parent ]
Can this guy be Swift Boated like Kerry?
What an unrepentant Maggot. Why would anyone in their right mind vote for such a selfish person?

I am not only an adoptive parent but a TS parent as well. I transitioned over the past four years and have at least one kid that didn't disown me altogether. I find McCain's comments rude, selfish, and most of all, bigoted.

Here in Arkansas we are fighting to keep a ballot initiative off of the November elections that forbids anyone but a legally (hetro) married couple from adopting or being a foster parent to any child. They came up a few signatures short but the Arkansas Family Council has been getting all of them from churches across the state.

It is time that hateful bigoted people like Mc Same and AFC and their leader Jerry Cox be put in their place once and for all.

Typical Railroader-Tired, Broke, Hungry, Sick, and Mad

I am sure the up-tighty righties are pissed at McSame
For not defining the two parents and man and woman.  You think Daddy D and the like will give him a pass on this?  Even though McSame has said he supports the Hate Amendments in CA.

I think they will put the words in his mouth, and force McSame to go on the record.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

LCR = Vichy Queers
LCR members will vote for McSame for Bush tax cuts...money is the only thing that matters to Repigs (gay or straight.)

"race, taste. and History finally overcome....and you ain't there"

I've thought this for a while...
But this sort of thing just brings it home. Politicians, especially Republicans, need to learn that when they vie for an office such as that of President of the United States, they are vying for a position that requires them to represent every single United States citizen, not just those that have ideologies that conform to their own. Mr. McCain needs to learn that all of the people he disagrees with, even the queer liberal college kids like me, are still American voters, taxpayers, and citizens. Maybe that's incredibly naïve of me, but hey, I'm an idealist.

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. ~ Isaac Asimov

Keep up the ideals!

...and good luck in school.

I still want a report on a head CT scan or MRI  for McCain, the primary metastatic point for melanoma is the BRAIN! and his was on his face.
