Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Interesting juxtaposition

In Rush Limbaugh's world, we get deep, reality-based analysis like this:
[T]here must be real animosity toward the Clintons at high levels of this party. To go with a veritable rookie whose only chance of winning is that he's black.
When I surfed over to the front page of Raw Story this AM, the link to the above Media Matters coverage was on the front page along with this story:
Florida group to fly world's largest Confederate flag

Fox News reports that a Florida group has asked Hillsborough County for permission to erect a 139-foot flagpole in order to fly a 30 by 50 foot Confederate flag.

"The Confederate flag obviously is a very inflammatory symbol," noted host Alisyn Camerota.

...Steve Doocy pointed out that Florida still celebrates the birthday of Confederate president Jefferson Davis. It is one of only two states that does so, the other being Alabama.

If I didn't know Limbaugh better
(especially in light of his comments about how worthless drug users are), I would think he was high when he made that statement.

What's up with flagpoles and Florida?
Wasn't it in Florida a while back where Donald Trump sued to fly a ridiculously large flag over his estate there?  Now this?  Sounds like a bad case of flagpole envy to me.

There may only be two...
states left that celebrate Jeff Davis' birthday but Texas gives most state employees "Confederate Heroes Day" instead.

Really? I don't know about that
Is that true?  I've lived in Texas almost my whole life and never heard of "Confederate Heroes Day".

What cracks me up is that the man in the news spot for the confederate flag looks like a movie stereotype of a redneck.

Apparently it's true!
How bizarre.  I had no idea.  But I looked at a wikipedia article that claims that all the southern states commemorate some form of Confederate Memorial Day or Jefferson Davis's birthday, and I'm guessing that most residents of those states had no idea, either.

To quell the fears of you northeners out there, nobody actually celebrates this except that guy who wants to fly the giant flag!

Jeff Davis' birthday????
Never knew we celebrated Jefferson Davis' birthday here in Florida, I was born here in Orlando in 1963 and have never even heard of this.

Watch flag go sailing next hurricane season.......
30 x 50 footer, even with good wind slits, is not going to withstand a hurricane - God's vengeance on fundamentalist racists  ;) Somehow, I think the bozos wouldn't think to take down the flag for storms. This sucker is going to be one expensive albatross for whoever sponsors it.

Jefferson Davis' big estate/museum "Beauvoir"
was badly damaged during Hurricane Katrina in Biloxi, Mississippi.  Sorry to see history lost, but what can be concluded about that?  Speaking in fundie terms maybe it was divine intervention???  Maybe he liked beaus?  ...maybe not the dark skinned ones? (jealous probably)  Just checked the website and it has been reassembled (http://www.beauvoir.org/).  Anywho.....
LOL, the website plays "Dixie."  I used to live near there and it was a beautiful place, and well-meaning folks, just racist as hell below the surface.

Never heard of that state holiday
I've never heard of any state employee getting a day off for Jefferson Davis' birthday.  I know the state offices aren't closed.  Dunno what they do to "celebrate" it here.  Maybe if we could get rid of the Republican dominated state legislature, then we could get rid of whatever vestige remains of Jefferson Davis day.

white hoods
I think that they put on white hoods and dance around burning poles on that day.  I am surprised anyone would still have that as a holiday/celebrated day in ANY state.

But yes on the flag subject, that thing is going to do flying down and crashing into someone's house come the next cat4/cat 5 hurricane.
I would think making a flagpole that big would be more dangerous for the people around it during hurricane season and that may be why they ban them.
