Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

The Wildmon Bunch vs. IKEA

by: Blood From Machines

Tue Jan 16, 2007 at 18:35:51 PM EST

(Dapper Don is trying to fill the coffers again. As this diary notes, he's a little behind the curve in noticing that IKEA markets to homos. - promoted by pam)

I need to ask Pam if I could borrow her "tiny violin" so I could play it for Don Wildmon and the "American Family" Association.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
[Sure! Here you go... -- Pam]

The recent campaign of the AFA's One Million Dads/Moms/Kids/Assholes activist project is to after IKEA because they feel "threatened" by the Swedish furniture chain's gay-friendly commercials.

http://www.onemillio...

IKEA - Commercial tries to rewrite American values

"Many of you have written about the IKEA furniture commercial. Although IKEA is not a nationally known company, they are growing, with stores in most major U.S. cities. IKEA is a Sweden-based retail furniture company and they are trying to force their liberal worldview on Americans through television.

Their latest U.S.-aired commercial features a homosexual male couple and young female child on the floor, resting up against each other, as they lean on the front of their couch. The voiceover poses the question: 'Why shouldn't sofas come in flavors, just like families?'

This is just one of many pro-homosexual ads IKEA airs around the world.

Please let IKEA know that the promotion of homosexual couples as a 'family' is offensive and undermines American values."

1. The only people offended by the commercial are ignorant people.  Also, there is actually no such thing as "American values"...and if there is such thing, it would not be a monopoly of the AFA and other church nazi groups.

2. There isn't an IKEA store in Tupelo (home of AFA), or elsewhere in Mississippi or most locations where the AFA has its conservative base.  I don't know if the AFA gets it (like they ever will), but IKEA is more of an urban (as opposed to rural) furniture store.  Like if the AFA would buy anything from there.

3. The commercials have been going on for over ten years, but now they appeared on the AFA's "gaydar".

4. Perhaps they should join Fred Phelps and his Westboro Fascist Church for their whiny "God Hates Sweden" campaign.

The folks over at Commercial Closet might send me an e-mail regarding this worthless protest campaign by the AFA.

havn't they learned
NOT to get between an American consumer and a good shopping deal?  Talk about culturally tone deaf!  What ya bet that the next big fundie 'outing' will be some megachurcher caught at an IKEA midnight sale.  What's rehab for that - Sears?  (because where alse can you get such a mouth-watering choice of polyester doubleknits?!)

Lurleen on Twitter.

Two things...
1. I didn't know that IKEA has midnight sales.  I don't know...it probably varies by location.

2. Ironically, the AFA is boycotting Sears because they aired commercials on LOGO.

Question
The AFA sure likes to boycott. Ford, Wallmart, IKEA. Where do fundies shop anyways?

Just as long as they stay out of my favorite stores.

Living under a rock?
This guy has never heard of Ikea?  Maybe he shouldn't shun all that leftist liberal main stream media!

My America includes LGBT families.

It's more like...
...living under Iraq. *snicker*

Teehee.
Now I just feel such warm fuzzies about owning Ikea furniture. :P

"Also, there is actually no such thing as "American values""

To me, I always thought they meant freedom and justie for minorities. In other wors, everything AFA is opposed to. "American Values" indeed!

Ikea Sheets
If Ikea sold sheets with eye-holes, then Don Wildmon might purchase something there.  The KKK analogy is apt, my grandfather, a KKK member, had post-cards that read, "Gas homosexuals" on the front and had a KKK tag-line on the message side -- sick fucking shit, but right up Daddy Donnie's sick, twisted alley.  And, while I'm at it, between Fred Phelps and Don Wildmon, who's the bigger MONSTER, why it's Don Wildmon any day!  People laugh at Fred's mental illness, whereas they seem to take Wildmon's seriously -- all because he stops short of using the the word "fag", making him a THOUSAND times more dangerous than Fred could ever dream of being.  /rant

This is just another one of many anti-gay screeds AFA airs around the world.  Please let AFA know that the promotion of hatred as 'family values' is offensive and undermines everything that America values.

:(
I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather.  Good Lord.  Peter LaBarbera also stops short of using the word "fag," and has pondered whether Fred Phelps doesn't exist to make other "exposes and counterers of the homosexual activist agenda" (paraphrasing LaBarbera's website) look bad.  At least Peter LaBarbera does perceive that Fred Phelps and he have a nontrivial amount in common.

AFA must have trouble buying necessities (yes, including sheets).  They can't shop at:

Target
Wal-Mart
Sears
Kmart (owned by Sears)

...all are explicitly supportive of gay people.

And from whom could they buy a car?  ALL of the car companies are gay supportive.  And good luck buying a computer, or software for it.

At least they can fill up at an Exxon or a Mobil and feel good about it.

Sears
Sears also carries Lands' End, so you can get pretty decent clothes there.

link not working
Does anyone else's link on Ikea United States not work?  Every time I click on it to go to Ikea USA it comes up with page not found.  Hmmmmmm

Buh ....
Although IKEA is not a nationally known company

I know there is a ton of shite just so incredibly wrong with all of the above statement, but this line particularly popped out at me ... I mean, what world does this person live in? Who the HELL doesn't know about IKEA in the US? I mean, I know there are states where the company isn't present, but it's a bloody cultural reference for crying out loud!

I am never going to understand people like this that take offence at an inclusion of minorities and love.

Where these people live
I am never going to understand people like this that take offence at an inclusion of minorities and love.

It's because gay men put their peepees in bumbums. The fundies are afraid of bumbums (which, by the way, is where they live). If you want to freak out a fundie remind them that they have a bumbum on their behind and are thus in perpetual contact with it. Once they calm down remind them that a peepee is always in close proximity.

If they are female remind them that all people start out as females in the womb.

Although IKEA is not a nationally known company
IKEA is the biggest export from Sweden since ABBA. Just shows how narrow their worldview is - it doesn't include the rest of the world.

[ Parent ]
Every time a bell rings
a religious extremist thinks of Tinkerbell and has a hissy fit.

I always did like IKEA.  Now I love them.  I love anything that pisses off the religious extremists enough to send them into a full-on hissy fit.

Corporate link
I went to the corporate site and sent an email of support to the US press contact.

http://www.ikea-grou...

force
IKEA is a Sweden-based retail furniture company and they are trying to force their liberal worldview on Americans through television.

Let me get this straight:

Putting the Ten Commandments in every school, courtroom and public square does NOT force anyone to be Christian.

BUT, if an international retail store decides to air a commercial that shows a gay family on TV for two seconds, THAT forces everyone to be liberal and pro-gay? Is that right?
