The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

'Wango Tango' homophobe Army recruiter piece gets link love

by: Pam Spaulding

Tue Mar 27, 2007 at 07:00:00 AM EDT

Yesterday's post, Beyond the pale: anti-gay, racist emails from Army recruiter, was apparently really popular around blogtopia. The Blend received almost 40K visits the story was picked up by a lot of blogs, including Daily Kos, Eschaton (Atrios), Crooks & Liars, Think Progress, Andrew Sullivan, Raw Story, CorrenteWire, AlterNet, Shakes Sis, Queerty, Towleroad, and many more.

Oh, btw, you must check out Jesus' General for a good skewering of the winger who tried to spin the recruiter as the victim!

I'm sure that The Frontlines, the blog of Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, probably had a big spike as well. SLDN's director of communications, Steve Ralls, received the original emails from Jersey City resident Corey Andrew and sent them to me; I couldn't believe what I read. Andrew had an unbelievable three-day email exchange with U.S. Army recruiter Sgt. Marcia Ramode, who found his profile and resume posted at Careerbuilder.com and attempted to recruit him by contacting him -- when he told her that he was gay, and as you see below, it went downhill fast.

Click to enlarge (and read and weep again).  Here's the PDF of the exchanges.

The story also ended up on Keith Olbermann last night, with U.S. Army recruiter Sgt. Marcia Ramode landing as runner up for "Worst Person in the World" feature.

What's interesting is that most MSM outlets didn't pick up the story at all. WCBS-TV in New York, did, but this was MIA everywhere else.

Another piece that I hope will receive attention is an interview that I'll have up later today with former columnist for the anti-gay American Family Association, Joe Murray. He recently wrote a piece scorching the AFA for supporting General Peter Pace's comments about homosexuality and immorality  and for the organization's use of the homo straw man tirelessly as a fundraising tool.

Murray has a lot of eye-opening things to share about the thinking inside the AFA, so check back here a later this AM.

HOLY CRAP!
I've been under the weather the last day or so, so I have pretty much been disconnected from all media sources.

This is absolutely alarming, outraging, and all-in-all disgusting.  Such blatant homophobia, racism, and total disrespect of not just one person, but millions upon millions of people.

Worst thing is, this one will probably keep her job.

Keep her job?
Not if this administration has anything to say about it. She's due for a promotion.

Along with......
Along with that promotion, comes a pat on the back, handshake, company (government) vehicle and a "key to the city"

Here's a link to a TV news report on the story
The Recruiter
You know, I'm a military member. I'm not gay, but I support gay rights, and the SLDN. I think I've even given them money. I support the right of gay people to join the military-and there are a bunch in right now, some of them pretty open about it. One of my buddy sergeants even had his going away dinner at a gay bar. We all went.

That said, this exchange is really not the shining example of gay rights that I'd like to see. Honestly, yes, the recruiter clearly has views that I don't agree with about gays. Her wording is not the best, nor her knowledge of netiquette. But I think one thing is clear: while Corey Andrews was undoubtedly not looking for the US Army to contact him, from the first email sent to him, he was trying to 'get a rise' out of the recruiter.

Everyone knows the policy of the military towards gays. His 'I'm sure they allow them now, right?' was clearly baiting, and even then, it only received a 'no, you are not qualified'.

That's when he decided to take it up a notch. He used racial baiting himself, when the recruiter identified herself as Native American. He used education and class-based baiting. He used every form of baiting known, really, and while I don't agree with the recruiter's sentiments, or the way she expressed herself, this is not the worst thing ever to happen to the world.

the recruiter is responsible for her own behaviour
she could have shut down the conversation in a dignified way.  she didn't.  didn't your mom ever tell you "two wrongs don't make a right"?  i never got away with "but moooom, he staaarted it!".  neither should this grown woman in a position of responsibility.

Point, but..
I think you're overestimating how high the 'position of responsibility' she held was, but while yes, you are correct, she should have refrained and kept her bearing, that doesn't make anyone in the situation 'right'.

[ Parent ]
she's not selling used cars,
she's there to persuade mostly very young people to run before bullets!  so it is a job of very great responsibility.  she was clearly not suitable for the position.  also, she needlesly denegrated the people she currently serves with, just as Pace shamelesly did.  no matter how the emailer acted, she showed herself to be an insecure bigoted thug and an idiot unable to act professionally.  shame on her and the people who trained and placed her in that job.

I heart Keith Olbermann!!

sure why not
Hell yes we need Gays in the military and they can be called Cannon fodder....

The Root Of The Problem
Well, I think most of the readers will recognize the root of the problem that has manifested itself in this latest demonstration of the true face of Jesus.  The recruiter simply "went Christian" on Mr. Andrew.  Sure, it was unprofessional.  It was no surprise.

While serving in the military I saw the "Christian gangs" making life for the non-Christians a living hell whenever they could.  Just recently, the Air Force Academy had some bad PR when these witnesses for Jesus were caught beating the Jewish airmen...rather severely.  The Christian leadership at the Academy did their best to cover it up, make excuses, blame the Jews, etc.

The Christian covenant does require that they "put to death" those that preach another religion, witches, gay men (there is nothing in the bible about a woman who lies with another woman as a man)...among others.  They supposedly have limits on them, as they must "obey the laws of man." Not that this helped Mathew Shepard when those good Christian kids did their duty, crucified him on a fence in Wyoming, beat him to a pulp and left him to die slowly.  There are many, many others that do not make the headlines...every day.  Had the news crews not shown up in Wyoming, his killers would be free as birds right now.

Their hatred, bigotry and intolerance are inherent in their covenant.  Why did god set them up with this?  Who knows, maybe god had to do something with his "special" children...so taking them out of the circle of life and placing them into warehouses (heaven and hell) was about all that was left to him so his first children could continue his work in this creation.  We all know of those that cannot make it in the "mainstream."  There seems little point in constantly forcing a mentally challenged individual to take calculus.  No matter how many times you send them, and no matter how hard they try or how much they suffer, they will never get it...the process is pointless.  Through Jesus, god must have recognized certain "spiritual disabilities" in some of his children and came up with this solution.  The bible is a covenant (a contract, to be taken literally if signed) to those that can accept these selfish terms, and a warning to the rest of us as to their true natures.  They are not meant to carry on the work, they are in love with their own flesh, their own pathetic humanity and want to keep it forever.  This cycle of life is merely a waiting room for them.  They are merely passing through...and like a gaggle of destructive 3 year olds, they leave quite a mess behind for the rest of us to clean up.

It is a shame that a Native American has abandoned a spiritual tradition that is older than Adam and Eve, who were created just 5765 (approx.) years ago according to the Judaic calendar.  When god was creating the origination of the Semites (Adam and Lilith...I bet you thought Eve was the first Semite female), the Native Americans had been around for tens of thousands of years already.  The same holds true for the Celts, Nords, Aboriginal Australians, Chinese, Mongols, Persians...the list goes on.  I have noticed that the Native American spiritual traditions are dead or dying.  They have gone Christian.  Tribal councils are vacating their two-spirit traditions and denying marriages to their two-spirit members.  I give it another generation before these deeper spiritual traditions are gone forever, and the very essence of being a Native American is dead.  They will just be white people with a different colored skin...their souls long gone.

The only way to change the current situation is to realize who these people actually are, and see through the current "PC-ization" of Christianity.  It is intolerant, and intended to be that way through gods will.  It is the filter that separates the wheat from the chaff.  We non-Christians need to keep them separate from the rest of us, and ensure that their "laws" are not shoved down our throats, or we may see a situation similar to that created by them in Germany in the 1930's and 1940's.  If you want to see a modern version of a Christian state, grab a history book and read up on the period between 1930 and 1946, which includes the Catholic church smuggling the Nazis our of Germany.  Or even better, the recent Terry Schiavo insanity where the Christian congresses of Florida and the US raced to create special laws to force their Christian beliefs on a private situation. KEEP THEM OUT OF POWER. ONE SHOULD NOT LET THE INMATES RUN THE ASYLUM.
