Terrance Heath is a thirty-something African American gay man, living in the Washington, D.C aream with his wonderful husband and amazing son.

Terrance grew up in Augusta, Georgia, and graduated from Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, where he majored in acting and voice. Around the age of 12 or 13, he realized that he was gay. Moments later, he also realized that he had to get out of Augusta, Georgia.
He managed to get as far as Athens, Georgia, where he attended the University of Georgia and obtained a degree in English. While there, he wrote for the student-run newspaper, hosted a talk show for the student-run radio station, and co-directed the campus gay & lesbian organization.
In 1994 Terrance moved to D.C., to work for the Human Rights Campaign. He's also worked at the Lambda Literary Foundation as assistant editor of the Lambda Book Report, the National Minority AIDS Council, and the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
He and his husband been together for almost seven years, after meeting through a personals ad on Love@AOL. They became parents in November 2002, upon adopting their son, who was just four days old. A year later Terrance started blogging at The Republic of T.
