Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

The Gary and Larry Chronicles: Numerical Update Edition

by: Lurleen

Mon Jun 08, 2009 at 10:00:00 AM EDT

After months of deadline failures, Gary says they've finally managed to print their Ref 71 petitions.  So now it's time to revisit just how industrious Team Homophobia will have to be to collect the signatures of 120,577 fundraising targets voters in time to make the July 25, 2009 deadline.  The prospect for success is even more bleak than my first generous calculation indicated.
Lurleen :: The Gary and Larry Chronicles: Numerical Update Edition
Let's use Gary's handy Countdown to ReferenDUMB Failure clock to get us started.  Oh my, look at the time!  It flyeth by!  Because you've squandered so much of it pressing your aborted ballot language challenge and then incomprehensibly waited until the last minute to design the petition, there are only 47 days left.  That's 1,120 hours.

Dividing 1,120 hours into the needed signature total of 120,577, you must collect 108 signatures per hour, around the clock.  And that's if each signature is valid.  Not bloody likely.  The Radical-Right fringe has a terrible record of petition fraud.  To collect the 150,000 signatures recommended to make up for the fakes and forgeries, you'll have to increase the non-stop hourly take to 134 signatures.

Whoa, wait!!  Gary Randall just deposited this yard apple on the Ref 71 website he confusingly and wastefully set up in parallel to the official Protect Marriage Washington campaign site (just how incompetent is Larry Stickney anyways, that you have to keep doing his work for him Gary?):

Timeline:  We need to collect the petitions in our office by mid-July. Notice the clock on this webpage to your right. We will update the exact date later.
So you're shortening the deadline by 10 days to July 15th?  That means you only have 880 hours left, which translates into 137 (170 for the safety margin) signatures per hour collected 'round the clock.

Yeah, uh, that's doable.  And you really want us to believe that you're not in it for the new list of likely GOP base names and the nifty donations?  Yeah, ya got me convinced.  Now why won't my eyes stop rolling?

hmmm
I'd like to think they'll fail, but let's not underestimate them. That's what we did in California.

Not underestimating
In California the signature drive actually started in like January '08...it predated even the CA SC ruling by a few months.  The opposition was organized, prepared, and dedicated throughout.

You're probably right, but...
All they have to do is get this petition into some mega-churches, as well as tap into the Mormon and Catholic churches, and their work is done.  They don't need to stand on street corners and solicit passersby.

yes they do need to stand on street corners.
there aren't enough megachurches, or churches period, in washington for them to get the signatures without non-religious help.  i have yet to hear of any organized catholic push of this petition.  it may yet come, but the catholic hierarchy sure hadn't done anything public to set the scene for cooperation with the referendum people.

We can't underestimate.
and I will beg to differ a little bit concerning the prevalence of so-called "megachurches" in Washington, take Casey Treat (who lies about location, Everett WA is a far cry from Seattle and Federal Way does not Seattle make).

But the reality is, they're already gearing up to take our  WA-semi-rights away with this referendum and are recruiting youth to be the face of their intolerance with a guitar & drums at the pulpit.

[ Parent ]
never said there weren't any.
i only said that there aren't enough to get them all the signatures they need without going out in public.

are you saying you observed a pro-bigotry church service involving youth?  if so, please write up your experience.

my seattle catholic friends tell me that there's been no mention of the referendum in church or the archdiocese newsletters.  this tells me that if the catholic church is involved at all, it is on a very minor level.  i suspect that the local hierarchy decided, like pastor joe fuiten and many other evangelical protestants, that they had more to lose than gain by supporting this effort.  if that is true, another captive petition audience has slipped through gary & larry's fingers.  no, they'll be out in front of wallmart and costco soon enough.

[ Parent ]
I have no knowlege
of the catholic church having any involvement. I only have my own knowledge of people like my 30 year old nephew, his wife and kids being encouraged (behind the scenes I guess) to set up signature signing tables at everywhere from the local grocery to home depot. . .(casey treat cult, see above).

This is typical, and we can't just sit around and assume they won't get the signatures they need to put this on the ballot.

[ Parent ]
who's sitting around?
i wouldn't be spending so much time writing about these bozos if i took them for granted.  the truth is that they could succeed in spite of themselves, and that is why we have to keep getting the word out about how morally bankrupt they are.  if you have any specifics regarding what people were encouraged to do and who encouraged them, how and where, i hope you'll contact equal rights washington with the information.

[ Parent ]
"sitting around"
is a figure of speech that I may have used unwisely. The term wasn't directed personally, but I should have known better about trying to interject anything into your conversation. For that, I'm sorry.

[ Parent ]
and i'm sorry if i misunderstood your intent.
we're all working for the same thing: equality.

Lurleen on Twitter

[ Parent ]
We most definitely
have the same intent. Our approaches differ.

But yes, the off-site independant "prayer groups" ,one of which my nephew and wife belong to have been waiting for those petitions with baited breath. . .what better tactic than a nice young couple with 3 small kids in tow to get signatures to "protect families" at Lowes or Safeway.
