Sorry, but I saw it this morning live (well, minus an hour) and that was more than enough.

Actually, I'd like to have her DNA tested to see if there's a link between her and Caribou Bupkiss-for-Brains.

As for her and Sarah, well, I have a feeling we won't have to wait long for a joint appearance.  

In the entire history of Miss USA, no reigning title holder has so readily committed her face and voice to a more divisive or polarizing issue. We are deeply saddened Carrie Prejean has forgotten her platform of the Special Olympics, her commitment to all Californians, and solidified her legacy as one that goes beyond the right to voice her beliefs and instead reveals her opportunistic agenda.

I guess admitting she's dissed the Special Olympics, is ignoring pageant officials and not fulfilling her "Miss California" duties would interfere with their victimhood.  

2. The real truth is that the National Organization of Misinformation are full of liars and bigots.  By the way, they are right about a "storm".  What they didn't know is that it's called Hurricane Reality and it is going to damage the structure of evangelitism.

I think it's pretty sick that the Miss California Pageant would pay for Prejean's enhancements—but hey, maybe Miss California is supposed to be fake. There is a well-publicized pageant precedent in Venezuela, where virtually every young woman competing for the crown goes under the knife at the pageant's expense. Besides, it's kind of a California aesthetic—check out our Governor, for instance. (And I have to say, there's nothing like plastic surgery to bring out an inner ugliness, though you almost have to live here to understand that.)

Not that my Queer Eye here matters, but I think Miss California got the wrong kind of implants and she'll regret them one day. Ultimately, I hope this travesty discourages other young women from interest in these pageants. It's truly a shame to see her be exploited by virtually everyone involved, but the silver lining, perhaps, is that others will learn from it.

At least Anita Bryant had something of a career before she went insane and began consorting with Satan.

Prejean will end up in the same boat as Anita:  twice (or more) divorced, bankrupt, and singing in VFW halls and trailer parks for retirees albeit infrequently.  In other words, a dilapidated old has-been.

This explains, I think, why the pageant people are so barking mad.  On the one hand, the scandal is great for ratings, and that people are talking about the pageant at all is good for business.  But no one wants the reigning Miss USA to be caught up with a bunch of nutjobs like NOM.

Bryant was an inhuman monster, but she wasn't an idiot or only a prop or completely incoherent when called upon to answer simple questions.  Anita Bryant made horrible things happen, she wasn't just victimized by horrible things happening to her.  Bryant actually had some (I said "some") talent and charm and natural good looks.  Bryant actually led a movement and was in tune with her times (unfortunately).  Bryant actually succeeded in destroying lives.

None of these things are or will ever be true for this total waste of flesh and silicone known as Carrie Prejean!

Just because they're both beauty queens doesn't make her Anita Bryant.  Keeping in mind that Anita Bryant is loathsome subhuman garbage, it is elevating Carrie Prejean to make this comparison.

I very clearly remember Anita Bryant and I honestly think it demeans the suffering that everyone went through with Bryant to compare this nothing to her.  As horrible as it is to say, Prejean could only hope to be Anita Bryant.  But THANK GOD that is not going to happen.

Well, Bryant was pushing 40 when she went off the rails in the 1970s.

Prejean has some time to build up a head of steam...

She's a younger, stupider, even more plastic Sarah Palin.  Someone with no cultural power, someone who will have no impact on anyone's life, someone who lives on the far lunatic fringe and is regarded as a national joke.  Someone who won't even rise to the power that Sarah Palin has because she's not even smart enough to be Sarah Palin.  That's who Carrie Prejean is!

Despite all their lip service to whatever tragic things are going to occur with legalized SSM (c.f., the fact that the state of Iowa must now be a chaotic pit of brimstone, given the level of claimed badness), what it all comes down to for these folks is money.

They're looking for cash to keep the hate industry alive.

Who's doing their ads? Seems like they might have accidentally hired some folks from our side.
