Blend-o-licious endorsements...

The Christian Civic League of Maine's Mike Hein calls Pam's House Blend:
"a leading source of radical homosexual propaganda, anti-Christian bigotry, and radical transgender advocacy."

He is "praying that Pam Spaulding will "turn away from her wicked and sinful promotion of homosexual behavior." (CCLM's web site, 10/15/07)

Ex-gay "Christian" activist James Hartline on Pam:
"I have been mocked over and over again by ungodly and unprincipled anti-christian lesbians."
(from "Six Years In Sodom: From The Journal Of James Hartline," 9/4/2006, written from the "homosexual stronghold" of Hillcrest in San Diego).

"Pam is a 'twisted lesbian sister' and an 'embittered lesbian' of the 'self-imposed gutteral experiences of the gay ghetto.'" -- 9/5/2008

Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth Against Homosexuality heartily endorses the Blend, calling Pam:

A "vicious anti-Christian lesbian activist."
(Concerned Women for America's radio show [9:15], 1/25/07)

"A nutty lesbian blogger."
(MassResistance radio show [16:25], 2/3/07)

Pam's House Blend always seems to find these sick f*cks. The area of the country she is in? The home state of her wife? I know, they are everywhere. Pam just does such a great job of bringing them out into the light.

Hate Crimes Vote Imminent - Call Your U.S. Representative!

by: Lurleen

Tue Apr 28, 2009 at 16:46:53 PM EDT

A vote on H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act, is expected in the House in the next few days.  CALL YOUR U.S. REPRESENTATIVE toll-free at 866-346-4611, and ask for their YES vote.
Lurleen :: Hate Crimes Vote Imminent - Call Your U.S. Representative!
More details from Equal Rights Washington
Call Your Representative Monday, April 27 - Wednesday, April 29

Call your member of Congress toll-free at 866-346-4611 today, Tuesday or Wednesday,
April 27-29, and urge support of the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (LLEHCPA) to fight hate crimes and ensure safety and security for all people.

In our increasingly diverse nation, hate crimes are a persistent problem. Although there are laws on the books to deter hate crimes, protect victims, and prosecute crimes, significant improvements can still be made.

The Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act (H.R. 1913) expands the coverage of existing hate crime laws to include not only victims of crime based on race, color, religion, and national origin, but also bias-motivated crimes based on the victim's actual or perceived sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability. H.R. 1913 also provides for federal involvement in prosecuting hate crimes in states where current law or local actions are inadequate.

Hate crimes cut across all of our communities and the LLEHCPA (H.R. 1913) is needed to ensure that all people have the right to be safe and free from physical harm and intimidation. Call your representative toll-free at 866-346-4611, Monday-Wednesday, April 27-April 29, and urge support of H.R. 1913 to fight hate crimes and provide safety and security for all people.

Thank you for everything you do,

Josh Friedes
Advocacy Director
Equal Rights Washington

PS- If you haven't already thank the Governor and supporters of the gender identity and expression hate crimes bill, please thank them today!

Hate crimes
There really needs to be a change in this area.  We need laws in place to protect people of different sexual orientations, gender identities, and disabilities.  It's eventually going to happen and I'm sure under Pres Obama's administration.

The switchboard must be getting a lot of traffic,
because I got booted off twice.  If the same happens to you, alternate routes to your rep include allowing National Gay & Lesbian Task Force to connect you, or calling your rep's Washington office directly.  Find their numbers here.

Sorry
My Representative is Bonehead, I mean Boehner.  I gave up writing to him years ago.

Calling him would not do a damn bit of good.  He doesn't listen to any voices except the ones in his head.

And the way the Republicans drew the district after the 2000 census he is guaranteed reelection until after the 2010 census.

Meh.

send him an email then.
you need to be sure that he has no valid reason to say "i voted this down because no one in my district supported it".  not contacting him just gives him more ammunition to use whatever excuse he wants, and to misrepresent his district.

I agree
Don't think your voice doesn't count. Don't be afraid to call your rep. especially reps like Ohio's Boehner. We need to make our voices heard loud and clear because this will be the first of many LGBT battles. I called my reps office today and made my voice heard.

Come, come, my conservative friend, wipe the dew off your spectacles, and see that the world is moving."

Mine is Chellie Pingree
and I just saw her daughter Hannah (who happens to be Maine's Speaker of the House) on TV a second ago... both are WONDERFULLY supportive and right-headed.

Did it
My representative is Clyburn and I know he is in our corner. But a call never hurts.

I called too
but my representative is Gresham Barrett -- a total empty suit Repug in SC 3rd.  I know that I'll get a "Thank You but I don't agree letter.  I could wallpaper a room with them.

Keep calling...
LOL, called my guy (who I know supports the legislation).  The young woman who answered the phone was puzzled as she said she thought that passed already.  Told her she was thinking of the judiciary comm. of which my rep is a member.
Oh.

Unfortunately for me...
...my rep is Blaine Leutkemeyer (R, MO-09), one of the most regressive members of the GOP freshman class. I sent him an email, but I don't expect to hear back. Still, at least he knows that there's at least one trans person in his district.

Be specific
Let your Congress critters know that you know that HR1913 does not threaten clergy in any way whatsoever. I cannot remember what I cross-posted here. A search from tips-q.com on HR1913 should give you plenty of ammunition.

Zack Wamp e-mailed
I get tongue-tied at times, so instead, I e-mailed to my
Rep, Zack Wamp (R-Tn-03):

Please vote yes on H.R. 1913, the Local Law Enforcement Hate Crimes Prevention Act.

We need to support this measure for the right reasons, not oppose it for the Religious Right reasons. We need to make decisions based on objective reality not on Biblical myth.

When Jesus told us to love our neighbors, He didn't allow for any exceptions. We need to take a stand against violence that results from hatefulness of others just because they were born different than most.

We provide federal assistance for prosecutions against those who do violence to those of another race, religion, ethnicity or gender now. We need to do the same thing for those who have a different sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or disability too.

I urge you to vote yes on HR 1913.

Sincerely,
William J. Ware, Sr.

Of course his automated e-mail server sent this right back:

The e-mail you send me is very valuable in helping me represent the Third District of Tennessee. I appreciate the time and effort that you have shown by writing. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve you in Congress.

It wouldn't make any difference, yet as some have said, we need to speak out, regardless, until the whisper becomes a roar and equality is assured.

I get the same garbage from my rep Mike Coffman,
This guy we got who is Tom Tancredo's replacement is an Dip Shit.  I would have to find his response, but it is the same, we have laws that protect everyone,  even when I reminded him that Angie Zapata was murdered for who she was and is from Mr. Coffman's home state.

I would call him a dick head, but I have seen some cute ones and wouldn't want to insult them.

If I make sense? it was quite by accident.

[ Parent ]
I actually DID ! Which surprised even me...
Even though I know he will vote against, we have already discussed, he fells 'everything necessary is covered by other laws.'
